29-08-2016: Finding a Relationship between Mass and Period for an Inertial Balance

In this experiment, our purpose was the find a relation between mass and period for an inertial balance.  To do this, we set up an experiment using an apparatus, Macbook and Logger Pro.
Here is the set up we used when conducting the experiment.  You can see the inertial balance connected by C-clamp to the table.  At the end of it, we have varying weights from 100 - 500 kg so we can see a difference in the period.
Closer picture of the end.  You can also see a device called the photogate which uses a beam to count the period and we used tape at the end to get a better reading.
This is the data we gathered after the experiment was complete.
This is our ln T vs. ln (m + mtray) with our linear fit.  The closes correlation we were able to come up with was 0.99995 but nothing more.
